Question:

I have close to 180 pages of books that need to be read for a test in mid Sept. any study tips?secrects!?

I have a promotional exam for the fire service and they just gave us 3 "plump" books to know by the middle of september, I have to read things 3 times, highlight and write down before it stick, Im a hands on guy, so any tips on how long is too long, or sleeping, eating, pretty much any help will greatly be appreciated, thank you

  1. try reading the books, I hear that helps.


  2. you should organize your time so that you will get enough done by that day. if you organize then you would find it to  be a lot easier on you. you can also try to relax cus if you are nervous, you wont be able to get much in. i hope this helped :)

  3. when i do my study i summarize notes on  small flash cards and it helps me remember  (summarizing really works since u still have a long time till September)

    or u can  give someone those books and ask u random questions to see if u r understanding what you  are  studying

    or

    u can try to ask yourself questions of  the content u just studied .

  4. Don't just read the books for the sake of memorizing the information. That's the worst thing you can do.

    Look for questions that need to be answered, and read the books in a way that will help you answer the questions. This is what they call "research". It's what I call "reading for a specific purpose". You can find questions everywhere (and some would come from the books you are supposed to read). Also look for what's wrong with the information in the books. This often helps you to understand what is right better.
