  1. They don't test you for color just for peripheral vision and corrective lenses of course.

  2. Actually yes!

I'm red/green colorblind, and I asked the same question in my driver's ed. class.  The design for most stop lights and car lights are almost universal.  The red light is on the top, green is the third one down, yellow in the middle, red arrow on top, green arrow below... sideways is the same thing, only 90 degrees rotated to the right.  the lights on a car are similar.  You know which way they are going because the light flashes.  The brake light is usually in the center of the rear window either above or below the window.

Thanks to this, even us colorblind people can drive.  It's not like we're really missing anything... the brake lights and the reverse lights aren't two different shades of red.

But yes, we can legally drive.  If we couldn't, there would be a serious colorblindness test at the DMV.

  3. Yes you can and the way that people do this for example with traffic lights is that they learn to tell the difference in the brightness of the lights or they watch the traffic and move when the other cars do...........

  4. Yes you can but you need to be more alert then others on the road. I would say more the 70% of tickets are given to drivers such as you do to your deffiency. But become a safer driver after they learn  cause you need to be more alert.

  5. I have a friend who is legally color blind.  He drives.  He just knows where the green lights are.  That's why they are always either on the bottom or the right.
