  1. All contacts will affect your vision somewhat -- if your eyes are not *exactly* the same shape as the lens you place onto them, they will make your vision worse.

Also, opaque colored contacts (not-transparent) or the kind that change colors from dark to light or dark to another color are painted -- the areas that are painted are difficult or impossible to see through, so they will obscure and blur your vision somewhat.

As for the burning, make SURE you rinse them thoroughly with saline rinse solution before wearing.  If you have even the tiniest fleck of dust on the inside of the lens where it touches your eye, it will hurt like crazy.  They must be very clean.  If you're a makeup wearer, you may want to try applying eye makeup AFTER putting in your lenses so you don't get powder or mascara chunks on the inside of your lens while putting them in.

If you eyes are already dry, irritated, or scratchy, contacts will make it worse -- much worse.  Try keeping a bottle of contacts-safe eye drops with you to use whenever your eyes feel dry or gritty and it should help.

  2. Contacts can burn your eyes if you do not soak them in saline solution after cleaning them at night.  If they are blurry, check for scratches, you may need to put new ones in.  Other than that, you could also have to get a new perscription.

  3. Could be allergies, they could be getting too dry, try soaking them overnight and cleaning them well to remove any residue, usually works for mine , or it may be time for new ones.
