and the one i am trying to get wireless on is a mac osx.. its an older model because it doesnt have the wireless thing built in so i had to buy one. anyway i have connected to the internet with this computer before, but i always have trouble so when i conected the wireless it says it is connected and working but when i click on safari or firefox it does not work.. i had the setting for the mac for the wep key which was easier and connected bettter. now when the guy came to fix it he reset the password and everything and changed the setting from wep to .so on the wireless utility it used to say

ssid bssid signal channel autheticationtype ecryption network

me uknown wep infracture

now it says wpa tsk tkp infracture

anyway i dont think that had anything to do with what is wrong but it might help so can anyone help me i have no idea how to fix these things. i usually just restar the modem and the router and it works and just the windows computer works now,, and the wireless usually messes up both computers connecting.. i have comcast by the wayyy

  1. I would just reset the modem, turning of any security - not recommended by anybody (but mines unsecure and I don't care). You should then see the wireless network on your mac, probably "Netgear" or some other unsecured one. I've never connected wirelessly on a mac so I can't give you more info.

  2. try a wired connection safer or stick with your wireless flexible, easy and cost efficient
