  1. Mid 1960s

    Honda - BENLEY CA95 Dream 150cc

Bring the VIN # to any Honda dealership.

They have a reference guide that catalogs every Honda made.

Style of bike, pictures of models, engine size, years they were made and the VIN range of each year.

  2. Well i don't know of any sites online that will let you do that, but maybe try calling a Honda motorcycle dealership that can run it for you.

  3. CA95E looks like a vehicle description code, 5006467 looks like the actual sequence number

"The CA95 Benly Touring 150 (early model) was sometimes referred to as the Baby Dream and came in one of four colors: Black, Scarlet Red, Blue, or White. The headlight was square with an integrated speedometer. The fuel tank had small rubber knee pads and a large chrome panel. It can be distinguished from the later model by a short rear fender brace. It also had an enclosed drive chain. The taillight was small and this model came with blackwall tires and flat style mufflers. The engine was an OHC parallel twin displacing 154cc with a single carburetor and the engine was linked to a 4-speed transmission. Unlike later twins, the cam chain came up the left side of the cylinders. The serial number began CA95-100001.

See the web site for picture of the CA95E

Does that sound like they are describing yours?

I simply assumed that the first part of the number was a model description and keyed it into the search engine, "CA95E Honda motorcycle serial number", and  CycleChaos was the very first site.  There are more sites that may tell you more.

Appaartently the E variation was the 'E'conomy model.

  4. Thats the engine number of a American model 1965  Benly 150 Touring ,aka CA150 Touring.

    It's model code is 206

Often mistakenly reffered to as a "Dream"

Frame Number is in a odd place.

Look on Left Side  by the side cover

They're popular with collectors,,not Huge valuable,,,but there's always buyers for bikes and parts.

They're a Project to get going,,,

but simple and solid  for very casual use/moderate riding.

A surprising number of parts are still available,,and most are not priced too bad.

    They're a "version" of CA92 125's

    Edit:

Actually,,the E has nothing to do with  "economy,,lol

It's the significant  figure for ENGINE

    E= ENGINE

The A in,"CA" signifies American Market

General Export models are just "C95",,without the A,,in the example of the 150 Benlys.

    Your Frame Number will read

    CA95-5xxxxxx

Note the absence of the "E" in the Prefix.

That identifies such a number as Frame Number vs Engine Number.

Back in those days it was Normal for Engine and Frame Numbers to NOT Match,,,so when you find frame number and compare it,,,and find it's Different,,,think nothing of it.

One exception would be if Frame's serial number began with 1,2,,3 or 4.

That'd indicate a chassis produced much earlier than the Engine,,,,

suggesting the 5006567 Engine  had been installed in an older chassis at some point

  5. Ck the plate on the neck

  6. This is not a vin number.

You need to look up in front of the forks.

There should be a tag there that tells you everything you need to know.

    Year make modeletc....
