yes..you have to first decide which type u want..if you want to work hard then u can go through the IES .ok otherwise its normal posts like diesel asst.for mechanical engg. and Jr engineer posts for electrical engineers..its ur choise..ok..

U hasn't tell us that in what stream u completed ur B.Tech. There may be a possiblity that u may get a very good job in other department.

So I suggest to try somewhere else too.

Apply for the UPSC examination and select any one of the Railway Services from that.

Nice choice !! I think you have some special attaction towards "Railways "  yar !!

As far as i know railway examination for lower cadder is filled through "RRB" examination and the inforamtion of when it will be conducted will be available in leading news papers and this will be conducted regionally and u have possibilities to appear in diff states and can attend the examination many times in a year.... plus u will get free tickets for ur two and fro journey ;-).

For higher cadders .. you have to appear for " gourp 1" , "group2" and "group3" conducted by the government of india.. you should put in more hard work for these examination.
