  1. Probably have your permit revoked and not be able to get your license until you're 18 or in some states 21. Have fun riding with mom for the next few years.

You may not be able to be issued your license in 1 week because of this pending charge. I would wait until after my court date to go apply for a license.

  2. You didn't say where you were.

In NJ for example, the court has the option of removing your permit, and/or suspending your license privileges for up to 2 years.  As the previous poster mentioned, your demeanor will matter a lot as to how hard you actually get hit.

You would be able to get your license here, because you haven't been convicted yet, the suspension would apply from conviction or guilty plea date.

Your state/county rules may be tougher or looser.

This assumes you are found guilty, but its a hard charge to fight.

  3. As long as you're polite, courteous, and answer questions truthfully, chances are very good that you will not have your driver's license taken away.

Most likely, you'll get slapped with a fine and a stern warning about the consequences of your actions.  You could have your license suspended as well; that's fairly probable.  But it would probably only be for 60 days or so.

Also, I'm not sure if you can get your license with a pending charge.  I would call to double-check and postpone your appointment if necessary.

Just make sure you show up dressed well and treat everyone with utmost respect.
