I have created a group. While sending messages I want the group address to show up in the from.?

Basically I want to use the group email address for outbound messages representing my group to people outside my group say to goverment officials etc.

  1. posts from groups will always be linked to the address of the sender- sorry you cannot use it for your outbound posts only

Sorry, you can't do that.  Yahoo groups are intended to share information within the group's membership only.  In order for you to use the group's email address, the messages would have to be posted to the group itself.  Those messages would then be sent to the group members only.  People outside your group are not considered members.

    You could use your own private email address to send messages to non-members and include a link to your group's home page.  If you have your group set to "Public", they could follow the link to your group and click on Messages.  Then they would have to weed through all messages in order to find what you want them to read.  I doubt very seriously that people in government positions would mess with that.
