  1. it all depends on the criminal convictions? since you were not specific?

    read this :

The major enactments are the NSW Criminal Records Act 1991, WA Spent Convictions Act 1992, Qld Criminal Law (Rehabilitation of Offenders) Act 1986 and the NT Criminal Records (Spent Convictions) Act 2002. In South Australia convictions for certain offences are apparently transferred to an 'inactive file' after five to ten years.

Exclusions reflect major crimes, notably those involving children, with law reform bodies grappling with concerns regarding employment of s*x offenders (evident in suggestions for strengthening of the NSW Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 and proposals in Victoria for photo ID and registration under that state's Working With Children law).

  2. Australia has very odd visa restrictions and probably won't issue you one.

I traveled with a California university group over there about 15 years ago and we almost had to cancel the Australian part of the trip because they didn't want a bunch of US students to 'party' in their country.  They issued visas at the very last minute to us, finally.

The funny thing is, New Zealand was glad we were coming and welcomed us with open arms.

  3. i think you can't travel because of that ,the conviction....you only stay where you are....

  4. There are citizens of certain countries that does not require a visa to stay in Australia.  Verify on the Australian Embassy in your country if you are exempted.

  5. Depends what you've been done for. You might not be allowed in( F****** stupid for a country that prides itself on it's convict past!!) You would be better off contacting the aussie embassy where you live & find out. If you do come down here, Come to the East side of the countryQld, NSW & Vic, more fun better beers, etc
