Question:

I have crowded teeth and i'm concerned that invisalign, as an orthodontic treatment, will not be effective.

I understand that I am paying a substantial amount. if i don't get the results i'm looking for, then its possible that my dentist can say i'm not using the technology correctly. He recommended pulling the center bottom tooth out, to create more space. I also saw a bad review of invisalign saying that the trays take a long time to arrive and that the company is unreliable. I wonder if others have had similar experiences?

  1. get braces. because i too have crowded teeth at the bottom, and my orthodontist said they can fix it so i will have a straight smile

  2. You should definitely make an appointment with an Orthodontist before you consider invisilign.  While some dentists are certified to use invisilign, it is not their specialty. Orthodontists specialize in the movement of teeth and would give you the best options available based on your case.

Traditional braces in my opinion will give you better results in a quicker timeframe and also be less expensive.

There is also new brackets out that are placed on the backs of your teeth, if you're worried about the whole "wearing braces" thing.

  3. i have horribly crowded teeth, but i have to get braces for two years!  and its always possible to not get satisfaction

  4. i recently got the simpli5 (very similar to invisalign) on my top teeth. removable braces are usually only effective when fixing small problems. my bottom teeth couldnt have been fixed w/ invisalign. i'm on my second set of clear aligners and i can tell a difference. metal braces work on crowded teeth very well. i've had metal on the bottom for about 1.5 months and i see a signicant difference.

  5. Go for old fashion braces. i had jacked up teeth, and almost 10 years later I have an excellent smile. It's worth it.

  6. I did invisalign and had a really good experience. I would recommend that you go to several specialists to get different opinions about it. A good specialist will not attempt treatment if you won't be satisfied with the results. Basically, you will describe what you want done and then invisalign will create a plan to get there. They will plan out all the trays you will wear and show you what you will look like in the end. If you don't like what the end product is, then you won't be happy with it.

It sounds like maybe you don't feel comfortable with your dentist because you're worried that they'll blame failure on you. Go to the invisalign website and look up other dentists in your area that are trained with invisalign and get some other opinions.

  7. im only 13 and ive gotten 12 teeth pulled, 8 baby 4 permanent and it worked i might not even need braces. just getting them pulled was enough
