I have dampness in the cupboard below my sink and it won't go away?

There are no leaks. I left the doors open 48 hrs. and it is still wet.

  1. have you wiped it? tried a fan heater on it? try DampRid


  2. Try putting silica gel in the cupboard.

    you get little packets of it in shoes boxes etc. and it absorbs moisture.

    collecting them and putting them in the cupboard may help, its what we use in out laundry cupboard.

    A friend of mine also puts a bowl of salt on her table at her Holiday caravan..apparently that absorbs moisture aswell and stops the caravan becoming damp.

  3. Charcoal about 10 to 15 of them

    Kitty litter in a pan. About 4 cups full

    A combo of those two things works well also.

    You may have to replace the wood if it is taking so long to dry because of humidity or a leak.

    I would try the litter for a week or two first.

    I hope there is no pipe under leaking. And it is just humid in your area.
