To all the med technologists out there what makes a good med tech or what can i start working on to ensure that i am a successful medical technologist or clinical lab scientist?

  1. A good medical technologist has more than just a strong interest and passion for medical science, but these are the major contributing factors.  If you have an interest in the field and are concerned about what kind of MT/CLS you would make then you probably also have the right qualities as well or will find them along the way.  In general, I would say an ideal medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist is thorough, analytical, curious, responsible, caring, intelligent, and great at troubleshooting and problem solving.

  2. General career info:  http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'clinical laboratory technologists' or such.  There should be other websites provided at the end of the entry to try to find accredited programs if still interested :)

Please steer clear of those online, for-profit schools such as penn foster, university of phoenix, capella, strayer and others:  http://www.capellauniversitysucks.us

http://www.ripoffreport.com and can type into search.
