I have dial up internet and wanted to know is there a way to be booted when a phone call comes in?

Our phone stays busy if I use the internet and we miss phone calls for this reason. I'd rather be booted when we were getting a phone call rather than missing the phone call. Is there anything I can do to fix my internet where I can get incoming calls while on the internet?

  1. I have ATT basic internet service and I only pay 10 dollars per month for one year term. If you get a router the signal is more faster.

  2. Emerson has a unit out there called  ( Emerson Switch board.)

And what it does is automatically disconnect you from the Net and let you answer the call. I have one . I bought it when I had dial up. It works good and is like brand new. I now have DSL so I don't need it, so you can have it, it comes with the connection cords and instructions, you would just pay for shipping charges whatever they would be. Let me know here is my email

  3. Yes.  All you need is a V.92 Modem card installed in your PC.

V.92 version dial-up modems have a feature called MOH - Modem On Hold.  It will notify you of incoming calls and allow you to switch from Internet surfing to call accept incoming calls.

  4. See if your local phone provider offers "call waiting".

This is not free though, so you might as well get DSL or cable modem.
