I have difficulty finding information. Can anyone help?

I am a descendant of a Thomas Green and Lucie de la Zouche. Most if not all genealogists believe that Lucie's parents were Eudo (Eon) de la Zouche and Millicent Cantilupe, but I have been unable to find anything that substantiates this claim. These genealogists use the pedigrees and writings of a La Mance. I do not have enough access to resources to verify or challenge the information.

Lucie de la Zouche or la Zouche is said be a descendant of the viscounts of Porhoet. She may have been born in Harringworth, Northamptonshire, England. She died in 23 Oct 1326 in England. She married Sir Thomas Green (de Greene, de Grene) in 1312. Sir Thomas was Lord of Boketon and was born in 1292 in Boughton, Northamptonshire, England. Their son was Sir Henry was born, died, and buried at Greens Norton, Northamptonshire. Henry was also Lord of Boketon. Undoubtedly they had other children but I do not know of them.

If anyone can help with more information that would be great.

  1. If your local library subscribes to a genealogy site and if you have a library card for your local library system, you can access that site at the library, for free.

Printing the info to take home for future reference will cost you,  but it's still cheaper than paying for a subscription to a site.

familysearch.org is a free site, that will help you keep track of your research. It will not store the info on-line; it requires you to keep the reseach on a CD.

Simply register and follow the simple instructions.

They also offer free printable forms, for creating a paper copy of all research; it will come in handy, if the CD is damaged or the computer dies.

    P.S.

You can post a query on rootsweb.com; a free question and answer forum. Ancestry owns it, so a lot of Ancestry subscribers peruse the queries and help others find info.

My apologies, for not giving you this info sooner.

    Good luck.

    Additional info:

I just searched 12 trees on ancestry.com and have listed the names of Lucies (supposed) siblings, in no particular order.

William, Eva, Ellen/Eleanor, Elizabeth, Roger, George, Joan, Eudes II, Emeri, Phillipe & Thomas.

The first 3 appeared on 5 of the 12 trees, but they and from Elizabeth thru Thomas only appeared on 2 of the 12 trees.

Can not verify any of the above info, but hope it helps.

Also,  have you researched "The Magna Carta Surety"?

If your library does not have one, you can request a copy via an inner-library loan.

  2. you could go on the Internet and find the person your looking for.or check out books at the library
