I have direcTV, If I add an extra receiver that I have from an old system?

One with the older Football cards, and take the card in and out of one of my current receivers will the extra (old/new to my system) receiver work???

Nope....sorry it doesn't work like that.  DirecTV has to authorize each card and receiver combination to work, so if you pull a card out and try with another receiver it won't work at all.  

The only way to add a receiver to your system is to contact DirecTV and have them send you a new card to work with your old receiver.  If the receiver is too old, they might not even be willing to do that, and then they will just send you an entirely new receiver, although bear in mind they will also want to charge you another $5 a month for that extra receiver.
