I have dominant bilateral thyroid nodules, one is classified as heterogeneous mass that measures 8mm across.?

Should i request a FNA? I feel pressure in my throat with shortness of breath.

  1. These nodules are too small to cause symptoms alone;

    the heterogeneous means it is part fluid part solid; the biopsy in most cases not needed until the nodule is larger then 1 cm [10 mm];

    Hashimoto's thyroiditis can cause such symptoms
