I have done B.com. And working in MAERSK for the past 1 year.I would like to take up a course in SAP or MIS?

I am doing my MBA too. Can any one suggest me which is better, MIS or SAP course's . Please advise me the better place to get that to.

The question you asking is a it crude but I would like to answer it with the knowledge I have on the same.

To give you a breif background, I am a CA, CISA and working as an Oracle Consultant which is similar to SAP consultant as both are competing ERPs.

Going for SAP would make you a specialist for an off the shelf product and you would be involved in helping your customers run their business in the best way using the features of a SAP as a product wiht the best business processes to suit that.

MIS is a broader term where in you are not dependant on a product and your experitse on the business needs in terms of reporting will be the key driving force. Here, you will be involved in getting to facilitate how best you can provide information to the business users, in the most convenient and presentable form, and most importantly relevant to them.

However, I would suggest you look at these careers only after you complete your MBA as it will definitely add value to your profile which is very difficult to sell in the market with just a B. Com degree.
