I have done M.E in control engg india and now Wish to pursue Phd in u.scurrently iam housewife.is it worth ?

Is it worth to do phd ,really iam interested in teaching..worked as a lecturer in india for an year..want to know what i have to do to go for teaching in US .pls mention what are the requirements and oppurtunities else tell me any other option ?

If you want to teach at a decent school in the US, you need to get a Ph.D. Once in the program, you can learn more about teaching by working as a teaching assistant. Depending on the field, the degree will probably take you 4-5 years. As for the requirements, they differ from one school to another, and you will need to check on their web sites.

I hope your husband will be okay with you going back to school for a Ph.D., as you will most likely have little time left for him. If you have children as well, all I can say is good luck.
