  1. Well usually when that occurs it's because the cleanser/face wash you're using is drying out the natural oils in your face too quickly for your face to reproduce[example: a face wash with salicylic acid]- so you might want to change your face wash if that is the case. Also, if you happen to be using a product with benzoyl peroxide[look on the back under 'Active Ingredients'], that also really dries out your face. Consider buying a good moisturizer, also.

If you don't happen to be using any of the above, you probably just need a good moisturizer.

Clean and Clear has a great line of moisturizers, wether you have acne or not, and be sure to apply them in the morning after you wash and at night right before bed. Bringing some with you through the day wouldn't be a bad idea either.

  2. hmm not advisable really, exfoliating could cause your skin to become irritated and may make it red. Just use a moisturiser if your skin is dry.

  3. exfoliate and moisturise

  4. my advice would be to use a light exfoliating face wash, then after wards use a moisturiser to soften and make your skin less flakey! :) you should be seeing better skin in no time :D

  5. Use a soft skin brush to get the dead skin off and wash your face.

  6. you havr dry skin i dont think exfoliating by itself will help at all. you need to find a daily routine to cleanse tone and moisterise then youll never have any problem. i use clinique but there are cheaper options if you dont have problem skin

  7. Id say see a doctor my cousin had flaky skin it got worse turns out she had eczema.

  8. Don't use the exfoliators that contain small beads as they will irritate your skin and can make it worse.  I highly recommend a 3-in-1 clay scrub by the Body Shop.  Then apply hydrating mask.  Boots do a fantastic one from their No. 7 line.  Then apply a moisturiser.  Try to go for one that doesn't contain alcohol as this will further dry the skin than moisturise it.

Drink at least 1.5 litres of water per day and eat lots of fruits (apples and oranges etc), as well as Veg.  It sounds like your skin may be badly dehydrated.  Cut down on caffeine and alcohol.

Moisurisers do not put moisture back into the skin they lock in the moisture that is already there.   The above should help you to get the moisture back into your skin.

If you don't see any improvement after 1 month, please see your doctor, as you could have eczema (or another underlying condition) causing the dryness.

  9. I get that sometimes too. I would use Olay hydrating Cleanser..It really makes you face feel soft and very clean. The Olay Product run sort of expensive in the skin isle trust me I know..I want to say at Target they are around $8 a piece. But they are well worth it if you have dry skin. I promise you, your money won't be wasted .Here is the description they wrote about it:

Olay Warming Hydrating Cleanser purifies and hydrates skin for comfortably clean skin that is beautifully moisturized. Its warming technology activates when it comes into contact with water to deeply warm skin and relax you. The formula, with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera, purifies by removing dirt better than basic cleansing and hydrates to improve skin texture. Oil-free. Non-Drying.

Here is a link to see a picture of it so you know what to look for at the store:

Also I use the Olay Warming Deep Purifying Cleanser. Both of them are textured so they rub off any dry skin. And the first one hydrates.  Here is the description:

Olay Warming Cleansers - Goes beyond basic cleansing to deeply warm skin, relax pores and help remove impurities  Try the one that meets your skin's needs: Warming Deep Purifying Cleanser or Warming Hydrating Cleanser with Hydrate

Contains Water Activated Heat Technology for Spa-like experience. Deep Purifying Cleanser purifies and clarifies skin with Green Tea & Witch Hazel; Hydrating Cleanser purifies and hydrates skin with Vitamin E & Aloe Vera
