I was born in the United States but moved to Canada when I was a child and got citizenship through my mother. I have worked in the United States once. My passport is Canadian and I have a Canadian citizenship card as well. Can I visit Cuba for a vacation or is that illegal for me?

  1. As a US citizen you are subject to US laws, and they regard it illegal for you to visit Cuba.

But if you don't tell them, how will they know ?

  2. Yes, it is legal for you to visit Cuba provided you leave on a flight from Canada and use your Canadian passport.  When you arrive in Cuba and they look as if they are going to stamp your passport they won't if you ask them nicely and offer a few dollars.  The reason for this is if you are ever stopped by US immigration and they see the Cuban stamp they might get a little hissy on you.

  3. I would use your Canadian passport and you shouldn't have any problems.  Us Canadians are free to travel there if you so choose.

  4. Cuba does not stamp passports.

    That easy.
