Question:

I have dyed dark red hair and green eyes, what makeup is best for me?

I have a medium skin tone (remember the red hair is dyed red and rather vibrant) and I usually wear black mascara eyeliner, and occasionally gray/white/black eyeshadow.

I want a change.

I've been told to wear green eyeshadow, I've tried it but I honestly think it looks ridiculous on me.

I was also told to wear pink lipstick, but I think it looks silly on me! (obviously haven't been wearing it with the green eyeshadow) I have big lips, and I don't feel comfortable in bright lipstick.

So any tips on eyeshadow colors, blush, lipstick/lipgloss would be helpful.

Thanks.

  1. A Violet eyeshadow will bring out the green eyes, even if you wear it lightly, or even just a small line of eggplant purple eyeliner near your lash line (I know, purple eyeliner might sound scary, but if you keep it very close to your lash line and don't make a wing at the end, it won't look at all clownish).

A rose or bronze-y pink would look good lightly applied to the apples of your cheeks, with some very sheer pink lipgloss. I find lipstick to be too heavy and dated looking, but lipgloss looks nice even in bright colors, because its not as heavy and waxy looking.

  2. a brown or gold colour is best i think. the brown & gold will go better wiv ur hair & complement your green eyes. pink is defiently not right as it will/has clashed wiv ur hair & the green wouldn't really go wiv red - if u think about it lol!

as ur say u have big lips, probably best to stick to a balm or a sheer gloss.

for blush, use a peachy kinda colour, not pink - it'll do what the gloss did & clash a little

  3. I'm very fair with green and dye my hair a copperish red.

The opposite color of green is purple.  Purple really makes green eyes pop.  I use blue'ish purples in all shades but stick with a darker purple for eyeliner (I line top only).  Reddish purples make me look like I have a black eye- not attractice.

    Bronze is flattering also.

I've been using Sue Devitt's eye intensifier pencils and LOVE them.  They're very smooth and do not tug at the lid.

    zaire - shimmering plum

    surat - shimmering deep bronze

For your lips, light colors enhance and dark colors will make your lips look smaller.  It's suggested that if you play up your eyes, keep your lips neutral and vice versa.  I'm really liking Tarte Inside Out Vitamin Lip Gloss in Liquid Sunshine and Om.

No suggestions on blush since you're so much darker than I am.  I've been using Clear Radiance by Bare Escentuals.  Perfect pinkish color for me.

  4. dont wear lipstick wear lipgloss little of pink blusher gold blue silver ... would make green eye stand out brown mascara black is too dark for your skin colour  liquid eyeliner but brown

    done

  5. Brown would compliment blue eyes and if you had red hair it would do the same. You have green eyes but I think it would still look good :)
