I have enquired at a travel agency and they have said i can stay up to 90days on a 1 way ticket is this true?

planning on living in paris but have to fix my EU passport when i get there can i go bout this without spending money on a return ticket

  1. A one way ticket is one way, what does that have to do with how long you stay. If you are planing on living in France, check with then on their immigration laws.


  2. If you are an EU citizen then you have the right to live in France and have no obligation to show a return ticket.

    I have no idea what you mean when you say that you "have to fix my EU passport." Could you clarify this statement. In another question you seem to say you are an Australian citizen. Are you planning on claiming British citizenship or that of some other EU country?

    As a citizen of Australia you may stay in France for 90 days without any formality other than presenting your passport at passport control wherever your point of entry is. I have never been asked if I had a return ticket (although I always have had one).

  3. The length of time you can stay in a country is determined by the country and which country your passport has been issued in.

    In most countries this is 3 months, or 90 days, so I would say your travel agent is correct.    Check the French Embassy website in your country if you want to double-check.
