Question:

I have exposed brick walls in lounge and want to plaster them is it difficult to DIY?

My husband is pretty handy but has never done plastering

  1. you have to get the mesh and then start plastering.


  2. Just nail some timbe to the wall to s***w too and gyproc (or drywall, i think u say in the u.s.) it, alot easier to do and can be taken down if need be to expose bricks again. You can also run some power cables or pipes in behind too, if you need to

  3. I agree with the rest of the answers, but rather than mounting the studs on the brick, why dont you attach top and bottom to the ceiling and floor. that way if you ever want the brick again, it wont be damaged. you'll also save a lot of drilling into the brick

  4. While my personal preference would be to purposely have Brick, I'd probably Stud the Brick, and drywall, rather than lathe, mesh and plaster. There may come a time when Brick might be OK again?

    Just my two "sense"
