I have extremely bad dandruff-- what can i do?!?

I used an entire bottle of head and shoulders. that didn't work.

what am i doing wrong?? my hair is dark, so it's very noticeable.

what's the cause of this??

i had the same problem but it wasnt to extreme. what i did i washed my hair everyday (scrubbed it really hard ahha) and stopped usin hair products like hair spray an gel. start usin leave in conditioner or mousse smthing light weight. cause all that hair spray and gel ffucks up ur hair. good luck.

ugh we are soo alike! i can really relate to you!

i have brown hair, so like you said, dandruff is really visible. and i used head and shoulders and it didnt work! i went to my hair stylist last week and asked her about what to do. she said head and shoulders is not good for everyone because everyone's hair is different. she recommended a shampoo called "detromax" and said it was in local pharmacies/drug stores and especially at polish stores. it really did work! you should definitely try it. if you cannot get a hold of that shampoo, you should definitely try selsun blue or pantene dandruff shampoos. they work well too.

also, you wanted to know whats the cause of dandruff. dandruff is dead skin from your scalp. the reason you get it varies. it can be hereditary (maybe your parent had it) or you dont wash your hair often enough. normally it doesnt last long if your body and hair are clean and kept clean.

Maybe you should look for a different brand of Shampoo and Conditioner.

Or try and wash out the Shampoo and Conditioner better.

If you don't wash it out good enough it could give you dandruff.

You say you used a whole bottle of head and shoulders, was that at one time? Or was it over a small period of time?

Dandruff controlling Shampoos may take a small period of time to work.

If you wash all of it out good enough, continue you to use large amounts of Head and Shoulders, switch brands etc, then maybe you should contact your doctor and ask him\her.

Try using Pert Shampoo, its in a green bottle. I use to use that before I found head and shoulders, but Pert does work really good also. You can buy it almost anywere, usually the same places they sell head and shoulders they have Pert shampoo's there. Hope this helps.
