I have fifa 08, the pc dvd version and now when i play on my laptop, it plays in SLOW MOTION, literally?

the specs are as follows, ita hp pavilion dv6000series, 1 gb RAM, 120GB hard drive, NVIDEO Geforce6150 graphics 1.7gig processor, it was running perfectly b4, and now, ITS A PAIN, circuit city did a diagnostic test on it and said the machine was clean, no hardware problems or nothing, PLEASE HELP I LOVE FIFA!!!!

lower the graphics detail, usually at main menu or in pause menu at times
