  1. floaters are caused by nerve endings that have just floated away from your cornea. some people notice them more than others unfortunately nothing can be done for this.

  2. 1. Do you suffer from migraines or head aches.  This is a sign if you have a migraine coming or occurring.

    2. If this is your first time and other things occur, like lost of speech or feeling on a part of your body seek medical attention.

I have family members who suffer from migraines and one of my sister's symptom's mimic strokes so pay attention to your body.

  3. Here's a little bit of info on floaters from the CNIB website:

    What Causes Floaters?

Floaters are small clumps of visible material within the vitreous. Although floaters seem to be in front of you, they are actually floating within the vitreous and the retina sees them as shadows. Sometimes floaters occur because your eye is irritated, or because there are crystal-like deposits in the vitreous.

As we get older, the vitreous shrinks and separates from the retina. As this separation occurs, floaters may appear. In about half of all people, the vitreous has separated from the retina by age 50, although many people are not aware that this process has occurred in their eye(s). At first, floaters can be annoying, but your brain slowly learns to ignore them. After several months may hardly notice them.

You can check out the rest of the article at:

Floaters are really common and most of the time they are not anything serious to worry about. However, if they really start to bother you, I would recommend making an appointment with your optometrist.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Could do with a bit more information off you really but here goes.

What you are seeing is a floater? Some people have them from a young age, some people they just appear suddenly. The older you are the more common they get. If you are over 50 you will most likely be getting them due to a 'vitreous separation' although this can happen at any age. This would also be accompanied by white flashes in your eyes.

Most of the time they are nothing to worry about. They can be very annoying although most people find that they are less noticable after six months, due to the brains ability to ignore them. Also as you get older, the vitreous fluid turns more liquidy instead of being a gel and the floaters more often sink out of view due to gravity.

If they get worse, or you have other symptoms with those eyes seek medical advice

  5. Open your eyes FULL in their TOTAL WIDTH by putting a slight smile on your lips, and they will go away.

This is in fact the only right way to see fixating your eyes centrally, which humanity is still unaware of!

  6. My eye doctor told me exactly what Britt said but also that they are more common in nearsighted people and also added that they could be operated if severe but that you would be kind of crazy to want to do that because the risk far outweighs the benefits.  I've had floaters since I was a kid and I'm 38 now, never really notice them unless it's very bright out.
