i don't stay up late. i don't watch a lot of scary movies. i'm not under any noticeable stress or anxiety. so, i want to know why i keep having nightmares and then wake up at exactly 3am. the dreams are usually about demonic of possessed beings attacking me. for instance, i keep having this recurring dream about a man with abnormally large eyes that stares at me, not blinking at all, while he rushes at my window and tries to break through. the nightmares i can handle, but the 3am thing bothers me. can anyone help?

  1. The 3am thing is actually pretty easy to explain.  Everyone has the biological timer in em, or that linear timer whichever you prefer.. the main thing is your body realizes it's 3am, hits REM at that time and the dream begins.

The dream itself however,  leans more towards something you are uncertain about and have no control over.  Could be just about anything in your life though.  Which sounds more along the lines of supernatural, which in turns points to religion or personal beliefs.

Could point to that you are angry with yourself for something you done.  (wow could I be anymore vauge)

It may not be noticable stress, but something is very adamant about uncertainty in your dream.  Just my opinion though.

  2. If you look it up, 3am is usually the time evil comes out. I gues syou could call it the witching hour? But anyways... If you don't want to look at it that way:

Myabe you have repressed feelings that are trying to get through? The demon trying to get through the window?

You can see it and you know its there, but it can't get in?

Maybe you are afraid of something bad getting you? You may want to pick up a Bible and do some reading, even if you're not really religious, it may comfort you.

  3. do not eat late at night and pray and meditate before you go to bed.

  4. The monster signifies repressed feelings and parts of yourself that you don't like. The waking up and hard time sleeping- there are sleep medications. But if you don't want to get hooked or try anything to severe, there's a hormone called melatonin. I use it. It has barely any side effects and it keeps you sleeping throughout the night.

  5. maybe you watched the exorcism of emily rose and it creeped into your subconscious.
