I have friends who are in special education. How is that different from normal education?

  1. Special Ed. is a specialty area for people with special needs/issues/problems.  They may be mentally handicapped in some way, for example.

Children who are in Special education are either children with Learning disabilities, like dyslexia, (which is a reading disability) or dyscaulila( which is a math disability) or dysgraphia( which is a writing disability) or someone who has a physical disability which makes it impossible for them to go to school in a general ed setting.  Like someone in a wheel chair who needs special access to the building or someone who's blind or someone who's deaf.  Most of the time these children are in schools or programs with children like themselves.  Special education can also be for children who are in gifted programs. In fact Special Education means education for those who aren't in General Ed.  No matter the reason.

  3. Well special education is less students in the room so the teacher can come around more Afton for help and regular education is a room full of like 20-30 students and it's harder and not as mush help
