I have frontier internet and a siemens modem?

Question

on the modem the yellow lights go like this: power,1,2,3,4,WLAN,DSL,INTERNET

when i use the internet the power,1,dsl,and internet lights go on

but today i took out the wire that connects the modem to the computer out and moved it a slot over

so now its power,4.dsl,and internet

does that make the internet faster?

and is it going to cost more?

The 1,2,3,4 ports are for any local computer to be wired to the router. So you can use any one or all four. Moving the plug has no affect on the internet connection at all!  You can use any one you like they are all just on a switch inside the router. The charge and the speed of the internet remains the same.

If you connect a second computer to say plug 3 you would then see Power, 3 4 dsl and internet  with four computers you would see Power 1,2,3,4 dsl and internet
