  1. I don't have that one, but I have GH2, and in GH2, the hammer ons are just notes that are really close together, so you have to guess. USually the ones that are almost touching, but they don't look any different.

  2. On gh3 play "can't be saved" on hard/expert and get to the corus ("i'm stuck in a coma, stuck in a never ending sleep") there is a part where you hit R.Y.R.Y space R.Y,LR you can hammer on/pull off both of these but you have to strum after the space

this will give you an idea of what they look like. You mostly have them on hard and expert so you play a lower difficulty that might be why you dont know what they look like

  3. Hammer ons are notes that are really close together. normal notes are like cones, with the top of the cone cut off, and the circle left in the middle of the note is white, as you already know if you've been playing. When there are hammer ons, the middle part of the note, that would normally be white, lights up. The first note of a hammer on is normal, and then the rest of the notes are lit up in the center. If you mess up in the middle you have to strum. You can choose to strum on the hammer ons, if it would make the playing easier. Because you have gh3, i would recommend going to practice, choose "Through the Fire and Flames" on Expert. You don't have to play, just look at the notes. Every single note except the first note of the first section is a hammer on. tThen, in the next section, almost every note in that section is a normal note. Look at the notes in those sections, and try to find the difference between them.
