I have got a Schengen Visa from French Embassy and going to France in last week of August. But, I need to attend my close freind's marriage and which is on 1st Aug in Italy.

My question is, Can I use the same visa to Italy before travelling to France ?

    Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, , Germany, Iceland, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden

  2. Schengen is "borderless".  For visa purposes, it is one country.  If you have a visa for any of the countries, you are allowed to travel between any Schengen countries.  The limitation is, for people who do NOT have the visa, they can only stay 90 days out of every 180 in Schengen territory.

    By the way, if you are American, you wouldn't need a visa for Italy, or for that matter, any European country anyway, for short stays (under 90 days).  Are you from another country, (not U.S.)?
