  1. excellent salary really...

and you will be respected for how you respect us... you are welcome

just make sure you respect the culture and faith here.. Your wife.. I'm not sure what sort of dress she wears normally.. like the sari's.. but she needs to cover appropriately while out.. She will have to wear an abaya like the rest of the foreign women.. and if she can, possibly a light scarf.. Khobar is an open city and many foreigners from all around work and live here.. due to the Aramco oil company influence.. We have many Hindus as well as other faiths working here.. We all get along.. And its not so much that you hear horror stories about Indians.. its the type of folk.. the ones who get harassed are the laborers work force.. The street cleaners etc.. Sometimes they get a little bold and beg for money by trying to run up to you on the street and harassing you to wash your car, or carry your bags. or anything to catch a buck.. And they don't do it properly.. it aggravates the locals.. And sometimes they drive like maniacs and don't follow local traffic rules that are sort of understood here... In fact.. you yourself will notice this when you come and probably get aggravated yourself.. lol... ... But if you are educated and act well and respect everyone and the rules.. you will be just fine and welcomed here and will find many friends...

  2. This is a good salary, you should have a basic salary + housing (25% of the basic) + transportation (10% of the basic) + other allowences like phone, using your own conveyince if any etc.

Try to purchase your own car as soon as possible, even by installments.

There is no discrimination for Hindus, just you have to keep your religious thoughts with you or to discuss within your Hindu friends.

  3. ......those were just hearsays but its better to be careful at times also. I've been here more than 3 years already and I didn't see any problems or I have no bad experience here yet.....lolz......the offer given to you is very high already and many will be envy of you.....lolz......try it for youself to know and feel the situation.....you'll be surprised non-Muslims are respected here esp. when they know you're educated and knows a lot that them.......good luck!

  4. Do you now the thing about Saudi Arabia they are snobs.they think if they have money they can rule the world good the Americans and Europeans are taking their petrol because they cant get more richer than this and they don't like Christians or Muslim Shiite or bouda they don't respect it they still live in 10 Century man go to Europa or USA or anywhere else your dignity is more important from there money some day Saudi Arabia will go poor someday soon petrol and gold wont last forever.

i have nothing against Saudis but you hate everyone .

  5. Your offer is more than enough to live in Khobar.  Getting a used car is a good idea as soon as you can.  There aren't really any buses or public transportation...just taxis.  Some compounds have buses for the residents, so if you live in a compound, then you may have that luxury, but you'll still want to get a car.

Many of the Indians in Saudi Arabia are uneducated and low paid workers.  It's true that some of them aren't respected or treated well by Saudis.  However, I think you shouldn't have many problems because of your job.  I think your standard of living will be much higher than most of the Indians working here.  Most likely, you'll look clean, educated, and respectable.

Your religion also isn't a problem as long as you're private about it.

Your wife and children will be safe here.  I'm sure there is a good Indian school that your kids can go to here.

Saudis being harsh in public...the worst thing I see is lack of courtesy.  People crowd into places and don't wait for their turn in a nice line.  They just try to cut in where they can if possible.  This isn't usually a problem in the grocery store, but I've seen it a lot in the food court at the malls and also in the ladies restroom.

  6. hello ,, the salary is very good, a man can live in Saudi Arabia in a very good condition with 8000 SAR . but you must be careful Saudi people are not friendly with foreigners and especially if they are not Muslim. but i advise you to come to Saudi Arabia and try, as you said you are working with a Japanese company that means that you will not deal with many Saudis

  7. of course, it will be a good salary package in Saudi Arabia. Cost of living will be less comparing to any gulf countries. you can have a driving license and car from there and the public transport system is not good over there. But taxis are available but little costly. Hopefully all the companies will give transportation for employees. The cost of accomodation, telephone and food are much cheaper in KSA comparing any other gulf countries.

Take care while going to Saudi Arabia, no religious things allowed over there other than Islam. In Khobar (most advanced/educated area of KSA) you will enjoy your life. People will be different from area to area and dont care about that. You and your wife will be safe there and you can maintain a happy family life too.

    Best of Luck
