I have got an offer for interview for Chevron Petroleum Company, UK without giving specific address of the com

Is there any such Company in UK. They have asked to appear interview at London on 1.08.2008 without giving detail address of the place of interview.. They are also asking to pay 50,000 INR towards the cost of Visa . Is the offer genuine. I doubt because they have failed to provide sufficient proof that they are genuine Chevron Company. Kindly guide.

It's a scam.  You don't have to pay towards the cost of a visa - the company who wants you would pay that cost.

Any legitimate employer will take care of the costs for the visa and travel...especially big oil.  Its likely a scam.
