I have gotten calls from two strange numbers in the past few days.?

Question

Two numbers showed up on my caller id. One from Mobile, Alabama, one from Miami. Both are listed with a real name and a real address. I called the Miami number back, so guy said that his daughter in law was calling about newspaper subscribers. I blocked my number & called the Mobile, Alabama number, but the call wouldn't pick up because I made my number anonymous. Should I be worried? Is my identity in danger because of my phone number being listed in the phone book?

I had my number incorrectly listed under an ad once - it unfortunately happen to be for an escort:) I had quite a lot of men calling me- I'm from UK I saw the ad and called the paper insisiting compensation for the inconvience caused

No I shouldn't worry, it was more than likely a coincidence. If you continue to get wrong calls, contact your service provider to get them to run a check on your line for faults.
