They are purple in color on the outside and the skin comes off when you squeeze them. The pulp inside is white (well clearish) and there are only 3 seeds in each one. I live in ohio and they're pretty sour right now, but I'm afraid to leave them because some are shriveling up already. Why aren't they sweet? Could they be wine grapes. what do I do with them I probably have a good couple of hundred

  1. First, get a plant book and make sure they are grapes.  The grape leaf has a pretty distinctive shape.

Next, check in the area, vines can be very different in sweetness just a few feet apart.  Here in Florida we have two main varieties, Fox Grapes and Muscadine, the ones you are describing are like the fox grapes.

You can cook them with some sugar, apple pectin and make some jelly, you could make wine if you know how, or bake a pie.

  2. they sound like concord grape, good for wine and jam, i like the sour taste as many people eat them.

  3. Sounds like the grapes I have here in NH... Concord grapes. Good for jelly.
