where I stay outside Glasgow the only people that get employed by McDonald's is the ones that were rubbish at school and cant get a job anywhere else, my local one takes on new staff every week as the others don't stick it. I would think you should hear within a week unless you have qualifications. This may sound rude but it is true.

Snarky little "McDonald's is evil" comments aside from our other spoiled little members, it has only been a day and a half. Did you ask he/she after the interview as to when the decision would be made?

Call the person who interviewed you tomorrow (Thursday). That's three days. First, thank he/she for the chance to interview with them, and then ask if a decision has been made.

EDIT: For all, first jobs are often less than desired. My first full time job, back when I was 16, was landscaping. Seeing as I was the newbie, I spent most of that time digging ditches. This was 1976. A few months later I found a job working for a drug store ("chemist" to you Brits) as a clerk. I saw my old boss one day a few months later when he came in for a pack of Kool Filter King. He said, "I see you got you a nice INDOOR job." I still remember my response of, "Damned straight!"

They should when they have a position if they are interested in hiring you.  Generally 3 - 5 days, if no call you call them and inquire
