I think it's because of anxiety over stuff in my life, so I know there's probably nothing that can be done from a medical standpoint. But it is so bad at night that I have trouble sleeping and as I lay in bed the anxiety about it makes it worse. It's also making me feel dizzy when it gets bad. I don't have health insurance so don't want to go to dr unless have to.

  1. Heart palpitations can be very dangerous--it may be caused by an actual heart problem instead of just anxiety.  You need to be able to rule that out.  Even if there is not a problem with your heart, it could CAUSE one if left untreated.  This is something not to take lightly--you should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.

  2. Yes you should definitely see a doctor about this.  If your having trouble sleeping at night thats not a good thing.  Do you wake up a night gasping for air or do you get shortness of breath?  If you are those could be the early signs of Congestive Heart Failure along with the palpitations.

Feel free to IM or e-mail me with any questions.

  3. U should just try to relax at night.  Learn how to meditate and just chill out.  If you constantly worry about it it will always be giving you trouble with it.

  4. Anxiety will cause panic attacks and one of the symptoms is heart pulpitations. When you get an attack try breathing in and out of a paper bag. This will slow your heart rate and calm you down. If things get worse and you get pain see a Doc immediately..

  5. ummm...yes you should she the doctor regardless if it is anxiety induced or not. If it is due to anxiety, the doctor can prescribe meds for that. But what if it is a heart condition like atrial fibrillation? So i say your first step is to see your doctor.
