Will DirecTV give me a newer receiver like they gave me the first one?

  1. You won't get a replacement onless your receiver can't be fixed or if it's faulty or broke for normal wear and tear (like if the front buttons are pushed in or not responding)


  2. the only way that they will replace it is if it quits..otherwise you have to buy a new one yourself

  3. They may not want to give you one. All you need to do is tell them you will switch to the Dish and they will give you what you want.

  4. Even though RDog got a negative comment I tend to feel the same way he does.  Call direct tv and tell them you need to renew your service and let them know if they don't give you any current deals that are out there right now that you will switch companies.  Most of the time when you contract is up and you renew they will give you a good deal to resign up.  I just did that when I went and got the HD DVR, I also got free HD channels for a year.  so basicly give them a call and they will work with you.

  5. They should be able to give you a new one since you're a long time customer. Just tell them your old receiver is acting up.

    Call their customer service.
