I have been internet searching as to why i have been having my period for so long. my symptoms are cramping, bloating, tired, headaches, leg cramps, heavy flow, tiny red dots on my abdomen and chest lk 3, loss of sleep, appetite.. i am not pregnant and i saw a PA at a clinic they took blood samples but i feel lk they are not testing for what ever i might have. all i keep hearing is this is a hormone imbalance . i just feel lk it could be something else.. i have had 2 children by c-section and i am wondering if that had anything to do with this my youngest child is 15 months this started happening back in december 2007 any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks

  1. have you considered or your doctor recommended taking birth control to help regulate your period

  2. This happened to me a few years back when I was younger, probably about a Sophomore in high school. They put me on Progesterone pills, straight progesterone and not birth control. They used a camera first to see if anything was wrong on the inside and found nothing. They called it a hormone imbalance as well. I know they gave you blood tests but they should be putting you on some sort of hormone that will balance you out if they keep saying it's a hormone imbalance. I had my period for a straight month as well, from March 17 (if i recall the day correctly) to April same day. Then went in, and they prescribed Progesterone pills and it worked. I would talk to your doctor about it or ask for a second opinion of another doctor and ask about getting on a pill long enough to stop your bleeding and then even regulate you.

Please answer mine if you can too. I really appreciate it if you can.
