I have had prophetic dreams since i was 8 am i physic?

i have been having very vivdi dreams of things coming true (people dying, divorses, pets dying, sister...) and they come true. i have been reading about it. i have seen a ghost/spiret in my house. waht are the signs of being physic?

Yes, you are psychic, but you are not alone. Everybody dreams about the future, yet only few realise this. Some don't even recall their dreams let alone discover that they are all, and yes, ALL, about the future. However most of the time they speak indirectly, by means of metaphors. We are so used to metaphors in our daily speech that we don't even realise that we use them constantly. We take them for granted but when the dream uses them we find it 'weird'. Just look at some oft the daily metaphors we use in waking life such as: He stabbed me in the back, he is a pain in the neck, she is caught in a vice, he is weak kneed, he shot himself in the foot, you haven't got a leg to stand on, he has fallen in love... FALLEN?? Why do we say FALLEN? Do we mean this literally or metaphorically? The latter of course and so does the dream with all of its metaphors. Or look at the term ‘she was my highschool CRUSH’! When you have fallen in love you are indeed crushed, but not under a car, but by the influx of all those sexual hormones!

Once you learn the language of the dream you will realise that we are in the hands of a power that is much grater than our little selves. Once you have realised deeply that dreams are your PROMPTERS at the footlights of the THEATRE OF LIFE, you will learn to resign to that Power that knows all and IS all.

Indeed, you will understand that you are not separate from that Power. You will also see that TIME IS AN ILLUSION. You will comprehend then that when we are awake we are governed by that part of the brain that slows everything down to a step by step perception of reality, and you will also see that when we are asleep and dream that another part of the brain is at work; one that allows you to see some distance into the future, one in which the barriers of time have broken down to a certain extent.

PS 1 One more thing: Dreams are tricky. Sometimes they portray your anxieties. When they do, you dream that one mishap after another is happening. But then it may turn out that those mishaps are your fears superimposed on actions that are not disastrous at all.

PS 2 Some dreamers believe that dreams are warnings of impending disasters to allow them to change things. But it is clear from the dream Abraham Lincoln had about his death which he told his wife and discussed with her that there is nothing we can do to evade destiny. In fact Lincoln’s dream shows that the dream can see even beyond our body’s death. This is clear from the fact that in his dream Lincoln could actually see the soldiers guarding his coffin. This is something which he could not possibly do while still in the body. This opens up a plethora of new questions about dreams capacity and the nature of the dreamer and indeed about our earthly existence!

I second Crash here; if you are a gifted sensitive psychic with native talent, you'll find that out anyway. Yes, go get some advice and counsel from a reputable psychic, and study for it. Don't waste time with the mail-order stuff- this must be personal and up-close to be of value. Of appropriate metaphysical centers of wisdom and teaching, I know little, and everything changes every year. Trust your instincts and look for the discovery of a 'crone', some amazingly useful book, or an event (trade show?), even a friendly group, but be selective. (i.e. cautious)

I won't discount the idea of psychic ability, but there could be another explanation too. One being that people with tremendous foresight are very sensitive to everything going on around them, which develops into a strong intuition. When the person becomes sensitive to an anxiety-provoking detail or so, the intuition kicks in, and the anxiety overpowers the dream function (to alleviate anxiety) and the dream portrays the intuited fact. The reason the person would not be aware of it before the dream is either because their sensitivity operates on a borderline unconscious level, or because they use defense mechanisms like everyone else to block it out.

edit: In response to one of your additional details, I wanted to add that you are right , you really don't have control over anything. Control is something that can be strived for and achieved minimally, but it is more of an illusion than real. Also, your desire to be psychic could be amplified by your need for "specialness", which could be quite severe in this case because of the level anxiety you are feeling. But I think you are confronting the absurd reality of life. You should read some existential literature or psychology. Check out "the myth of sisyphus" by camus.

These experiences can come from two places. Either it is from God or from the devil. In terms of it being from God a person might be given the ability by God to know future events becuase he is called to be a prophet etc. In terms of coming from the devil sometimes a person's ancestors were involved in the occult (such as parents, grandparents etc) and as a result that ability to know the future is passed on to them. Probably you can find out if any member of your family was involved in the occult if so you would need to go to a pastor asking him to pray with you and renouncing verbally your family's involvement in the occult and asking God to remove any demonic knowledge that is inside you. I can't begin to stress how dangerous the occult is. Take care!!!
