  1. well i remeber it was a little more then that .

durring 2000, the gas price was about 99 cents to 97 cents .

  2. just before we entered the war it was $1.48 a gallon and when we entered it shot up to over $2 bucks and now $4 it's too ridiculous.

This is a chart of the oil import costs check it out: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/why.shtml

  3. its true, Jan it was 97.7 and end of December it was 131.4

and now its over 4 bucks...crazy huh?

  4. I used to be able to empty my change tray and get a quarter tank in 99.  gas wasn't 90 cents but it did get as low as 99 cents.  I used to fill my 11 gal tank for a little over 11 bucks.  now its closer to 50.

  5. That sounds a little low for 1999, but bear in mind that state averages can vary due to the different levels of taxation.

Back in 1992/93 I was paying about $1.00 to $1.10 around Georgia & Alabama.  I remember filling up for 99 cents/gallon somewhere in southern Ga.   Florida was a little higher.

When I left Nebraska in '96 I was paying around around $1.10 - $1.15 for regular unleaded.

You can check current prices for the U.S. & Canada here:

Over here in the U.K. prices are MUCH higher, currently around the equivalent of U.S. $8.80 per gallon for unleaded.

  6. I don't remember it being that cheap in 99. But in 1996/1997 I remember it being about that.
