Is it a possibility that perhaps homosexual people are, in their effort to boycott the island, are filling this community with negative reviews?

  1. So because a people will not bend over, and is determine to repel all rear attacks, to take no part in any back door dealings, and will have no one on their backs, a few unknown genders, remnants from the pits of Sodom and Gomorrah is uselessly trying to bad- mouth them.

    Fear not.

Verily, verily I say unto thee, pay ye them no mind, cause their Boom Bye, Bye day is surely coming.

    Selah.

  2. Jamaica is generally a homophobic nation, though there are people here who accept homosexuality and obviously, those who practice it. s*x between two men is actually against the law in Jamaica and you can be sent to prison for it.  That has been on the books since we were a British colony.

Not all Jamaicans are "murderously" homophobic, though.  Personally, I am a Christian and I don't accept or approve of homosexuality since I think it is wrong; but I also reject lying, stealing, committing any kind of adultery (s*x outside of marriage), murdering (thou shalt not kill g**s or anyone else), calling the Lord's name in vain, etc. etc.  I practice the principle of "hate the sin, love the sinner".  But still, I don't want you to throw your sin (any kind of sin) in my face.

If you are g*y and plan to visit Jamaica, the suggestion is to keep your sexuality to yourself.  Do not be openly expressive.  We do have a lot of people here who are "violently homophobic" and some who need anger management, so be wise.  And yes, the Canadians are boycotting Jamaica but it won't be a big help because the Jamaicans won't be changing that law soon.

Not all Jamaicans advocate killing homosexuals, but there are some popular musicians who do.  Just don't use them to judge the whole country.

  3. jamaica is well against g*y people indeed.its not excepted at all there.people can be very hateful wen speaking of the g*y community.i wouldnt recomend going ja and openinly showing u r g*y.unless u r in a hotel and ita inclusive.where i go in spanish town its a big no no.there r lots of songs out regarding g**s.there not nice wat is said but jamaicans do not except at all.no way.its all the places u go.jamaicans believe dat man was made 4 woman and not man made 4man.people die in jamaica for being found out that they r g*y.it the only counrty i know of dat it will NeVER be excepted.s*x is abig thing in jamaica and it doesnt involve to people of the same s*x at all.every person ive met doesnt have a nice thing to say about g*y people.if u r then most definetly keep it to yourself as it cud cost u your life.good question.pinksssssssssssss

  4. I'm g*y, and I didn't know that there was a boycott.  I guess I missed it in the monthly newsletter.  I guess I should be paying closer attention.

I don't know if Jamaica is the MOST homophobic nation on earth, but I had numerous bad experiences there.

I was unaware of their outward intolerance, and booked a vacation with my boyfriend at the time.  Upon checking into the hotel, the clerk refused to allow us to stay in the same room together.  We went to another hotel, and the clerk made a snide remark that we need to stay on our 'best behavior', and implied they'd be watching us for any 'inappropriate activity'.

Boycott or not, you couldn't pay me to go back.

  5. NO, definitelly not!

The most homophobic nation in the world would be one where Islam is the official religion. Jamaica is christian therefore it can't be. In christian countries homosexualism is frowned upon in muslim countries it is punishable by death.

  6. For who, who didnt know

jamaican is based on Christian principles

Even though we are not perfect and have murderers and killers

and other ungodly things in our country

    We dont want g**s there

We believe its wrong and disgusting

and we will never allow g**s 2 have rights in Jamaica

    if they dont like it

go 2 america or england or some country which allows them

  7. I can understand why the g*y community would want to boycott Jamaica.... I mean have you heard todays reggea at all?!??! It's terrible, full of hate, s*x and killing! They actually want to KILL homosexuals... i mean this is pretty extreme. The music that originated in jamaica have coin the terms such as "chi chi man" and "no homo" and obviously they are pretty derogetory. Unfortunatly new reggea is extremly popular and kids take these artists as role models and what they preach is what kids think life is really about. Just listen to any reggea song that is big now and youll know what I mean.

notice that i have said "new reggea".. past reggea was amazing usch as jimmy cliff and bob marley.

  8. Personally I would not want to go anywhere I am not wanted. From the time I became closer to my grandpa's blood line I was well aware that same gender was a very bad thing especially in JA..If they are; that is between them and GOD still if this is something they don't want to raise their children around they have that right. They do not have the right to verbally/bodily harm anyone because of their preferences.Remembering they are God like not GOD himself....As much as I love my family they are extremely quick tempered to a fault and that's not Christian.....By the way they are friendly to them here in the US in public anyway....Blessings Yahoo

  9. yes Canadian g**s were boycotting!

  10. i didnt realize g**s were boycotting the island. but who cares, if you dont like it dont go there.

  11. i highly doubt it is the most homophobic nation on Earth and it is their choice as an individual nation to accept them or not. problem in America is that our government tells us we have to accept them. but there are plenty of other countries out there so strong in religious beliefs that Jamaica is not at the top. what about the nation of Islam?

i don't know about jamaicans, but as a christian, i do not believe in homosexuality. that's not to say that i discriminate against them it's that i don't believe God intended for relationships to be this way. it is for God to judge them not me. as Christian's we are not to judge others, but live the christian life in hopes it will be an example to others. there is nothing anyone will ever tell me that will make me feel any differently about homosexuals, but as a human and a christian, we are all supposed to treat others as we would want to be treated. i think the homosexuals constant push for acceptance is what fills a community with negative views about them.

  12. Jamaica has it's set principles. It's simple you live by what society sets. If you went to Saudi Arabia and stole something...and then they chop off your hand after you've been caught, are you going to say that Saudi Arabians are hateful people? No. What if you go to Indonesia with drugs and they give you a death sentence for your crime? Are you going to say that Indonesians are evil people? No because it's their country not yours, their rules and not yours. No outsider has any right to come into someone else's country and make their own rules.

If Jamaicans don't practice certain things then why are you going to force something that is morally objectionable (to them) into their society? If as a US citizen who drives on the right and you go to Britain do you think you can go and drive on the right as well? No you drive on the side they tell you to drive!

Finally Jamaica is not the most homophobic place on earth. Have you heard that Iran sanctions beatings and torturing of g**s? Jamaica doesn't. Whilst the g*y activists are swatting at the tiny island of Jamaica, they're missing the 800 pound gorilla in the room called Iran.

  13. jamaicans are truely homophobic on a whole

since it is a very christian country with churches everywhere[most churches in the caribbean] they truely go by the bible and are againsts homosexuals.

entertainment on a whole [music, etc] makes it clear in the songs that

    g**s are not accepted

it is even affecting politics with the prime minister saying that there will be no g**s in his government cabinet.

i doubt its the most homophopic nation[consider the middle east]

    but g**s arent supported their

since the country is getting more westernized you see more people coming out but its very few

  14. It is not the most homophobic nation on earth, it is up there with Cuba, the Russian Federation and most if not all Islamic nations.

Listen to songs by Buju Banton and Beenie Man. They advocate hurting if not killing g**s.

g**s have gone to the country and have not been attacked. They have stayed mostly in the tourist areas where they are not troubled.

However, g**s in Jamaica cannot come out if they want to live. There was a g*y rights activist who was killed 2 years ago because of his orientation.

What the homophobes fail to realize is that by keeping it on the DL, they help diseases such as AIDS spread amongst the hetero population because g**s will try to "pretend" they are straight while skulking in the shadows.

I was there back in 1990's when there had been talk of a g*y pride parade. Let's just say that never happened because on TV, there were men walking around with M16s saying they would shoot " b*ttyboys".

I was taught to hate their guts, which was ironic because one of my school teachers there was as flamboyant as they come. I grew up and realized their lifestyle can only affect me if I let it .

  15. Im from Jamaican for your own safety
