That is where we bought our wedding rings and my engagement ring is from there as well. We paid extra for the protection plan on the rings...what happens then? Do we just get screwed on that money we paid and now have no protection plan? Do you think they will pass on their business to another jeweler who may honor the protection plan?

  1. First, the Whitehall is being liquidated.  They failed to find another retailer to buy them, thier assets or liabilities.

I am not sure what your "protection plan" is, exactly -- but take a look at the contract.  If the plan is administered by Whitehall, you are out of luck.  If they have another party as the "insurer", you might be "ok".

For an example:  Sharper Image is in re-organization.  The extended warranty that I bought was purchased through Sharper Image, but the plan is administered by a separate un-affiliated company which is still in "normal" operations.

  2. I work for Whitehall and as far as your protection plan it is still good until it expires, you should just contact the number inside of the pamplet.  However, the lifetime diamond warranty is void.
