  1. My doctor told me, that it is not contagious when it is not a blister.  (when the blister goes away) Once it is just a scab or gone completely you are not contagious, the reason why the commercials on tv say that you can be is becuase sometimes people have herpes in other places that you cannot see, like inside of the v****a or inside of the p***s.  Therefore you do not know when you are having an outbreak, and cannot determine when it is gone.  Which means you could possibly think that you are not having an outbreak when you really are, and even more possible that you don't even know that you have the virus and you are passing it on to other people.  With this in mind, you never really know.

  2. Sorry you have herpes, talk to a dr. If you just have herpes simplex 1, found in the saliva, I don't think its that serious. But you need to be getting your advice from a dr.!!!

  3. Yes, it is possible to give someone HSV from kissing or oral s*x even when you don't have an outbreak.  Therefore, it is important to let them know you occasionally get cold sores before sharing drinks, kissing, or having s*x.

Realistically, people who have oral HSV usually don't disclose this information because the majority of people already have it.  However, I know a lot of people who got it genitally from their partners who would have rather known than finding out the hard way.

  4. These site should have the information.

  5. Absolutely!  Are you taking medication for this?? Valtrex perhaps?? Because its highly possible even w/out a breakout to pass it on.  Valtrex is suppose control the spread of herpes but unfortunately there really is no cure.
