I have herpes Type 1 positive i was wondering if i could pass it with out ,out break? ?

type 1 herpes doesn't spread as easily as type 2. so your chances of spreading it w/o an outbreak are low. but you may just wanna cut back on the saliva sharing anyways...for example sharing food and drinks with your friends. im sure they would appreciate it.

Type 1 herpes actually spreads every bit as easily as type 2! They are infectious for approximately the same percentage of the time, oral hsv-1 actually slightly more than genital hsv-2.

There is always a small risk of passing it when you have no outbreak, but fortunately most adutls (80%) have oral herpes, so people tend not to worry about kissing.

If you ever perform oral s*x though, you need to be aware hat you can pass it on to someone's genitals without having an outbreak, if they do not also have oral herpes like you. The risk is about 10% per year of regular contact.

I caught genital herpes type 1 through my boyfriend of 7 years giving me oral s*x - he had had it all the time I had known him. Though it sounds a long time, he very rarely gave me oral s*x because he was paranoid about giving me genital herpes that way. As it happens, I caught it from him probably the fifth or sixth time he ever gave me oral s*x.
