I have high prescription (eyes)?

My prescription is a high 8.1

I know, thats high. I wear glasses that are high too and i watch alot of t.v. and computer.

is my vision going to get worst in the future that i can go blind?

what are the CONS of having high prescription like this?

  1. Your nearsightedness might get worse and you might need to get stronger glasses at some point, but it is unusual for somebody to become blind, in the true sense of the term, from a refractive error. Sometimes people who are very nearsighted are more prone to detachment of the retina. As far as other cons of a high prescription, it makes it harder to get dates.


  2. I am a -14.25 and a -16.00  so yours is nothing compared to mine.  High nearsightedness is higher risk for retinal detachment so its important to get your eyes dilated atleast once a year.

    It's 2008 we have glasses, contacts, surgeries that can make our vision almost perfect- there is hardly any "cons" anymore!
