I have horses in Las Vegas and I want to get trainers license to race in Utah and California. Where to start?

All my horses are quarter mile and will like to race them but don't know where to start. I need info on what kind of questions does the test ask for license and what is the process after that. Thanks

Well first quarters don't just race a 1/4 of a mile,,, races for them come in many different distances,, so how do you know  They all run the same distance ?

if you have not trained before?

They run 300 and that is only the shortest they run now and 200  is far and few between, unless they are young 2 yr olds  

350 , 400 550 and 870  so Unless you know,, AFTER TRAINING YOUR HORSES THEN YOU'LL WHAT RACE TO PUT THEM IN ,if you can have the money for WORKERS COMP ETC

  

Then to become a owner// trainer They ask all different things like what distances are, and ALL THE RULES OF RACES PLUS THE DRUG rules Meds , whats not allowed and what is ilegal , And then what is a over night race or a maiden race you have to know all this What is Claiming ?

they will not help you with that

they don't  know your horses,, You should what race they should be in , Plus gate work ,, They all have to be APPROVED BY THE STARTER BEFORE THEY EVEN GET CLOSE TO A RACE

AND THEIR WORK OUT TIME'S  IN THE MORNING ,,If they don t make the cut they are out



and then they make you tell them parts of the body of the horse and Tons of things like that You have to know about shoeing ,, and whats legal shoes you can run in etc

They really don;t write races for 250 or even 200 yrds any more... unless at bush tracks or for young horses first time  starters ( bush tracks )Some at Los Alomitios

  

SO if you own a few quarter horses and think thats gets you in the door your wrong

They will ask about breeding on your horses !

Just because you own a quarter horse does not mean you can race him or her . and all have to be regreitered

they have to have race BLOOD IN THEM

It would really be ashame for you to lose every race because your running cutting horses breeding or worse show horse breeding ,,and enter them in a race

I think you better study race breeding on ( running quarter s)

and all the rules and etc

Your insurance alone will cost you at least 600.00 a month with grooms and riders

so you have to show them your bank finical records , to show them you can pay for riders Insurance and feed etc ,,

And your ABILITY TO KNOW HOW TO TRAIN Race Horses

Its not as easy as you think

And I  wish you would tell US more about Your self and why you think your horses will run ONLY A 1/4 OF A MILE
