I have i virus on my pc! How do i get rid of it?

I was downloading this game off the internet and all of a sudden, it said my computer was infected and all these windows started popping up. Now when ever i log on, it opens up windows all over the place and plays weird music and puts me on websites like rick roll'd and it's getting really annoying now.

please do the following.

check windows update for updates and install them

download avast and scan for viruses and delete them

download spyware blaster

download spybot search and destroy and set to immunize

and also set the pop up blocker in internet explorer to high.

Restart your PC In safe mode (By pressing F8 on start-up and selecting boot in safe mode).

Now run your anti virus/Internet security and any other security programs you have (Not at the same time) and delete everything they find. Try using this program http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant...

Then restart your PC like normal.

Sounds like some sort of browser hijacker., but im not entirely sure., get superantispyware free edition., download, update, and do an in depth scan in safe mode., i'm assuming you got it through a torrent file, scan all files before opening., you should also consider doing an online virus scan such as Trend Micro Housecall., Good luck.

u have to re new ur comp

when turning on press f11 then go to sytem renew(i think, i kinda forgot the name) then it will unistall all ur programs and u comp will be like the first time u bought it and i know that virus. its a pretty sweet hack

Try first, before  Reformat,

Download Spybot , download Windows Defender, restart computer, then run Spybot. See what the scan comes up with.

Virus Protection--  2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection. I suggest Avast OR AVG.

Running Spybot and Defender, with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition.

Windows Defender and Spybot are  2 really good Spyware Programs.

If all fails, Last Recourse, would be REFORMAT.

MAKE SURE TO SAVE ALL YOUR PICTURES, MUISC AND DOCUMENT.  YOU WILL LOOSE ALL.

If you have an anti-virus program, it is easy. Run a complete PC scan and remove the threats.

If you don't have an anti-virus, go to www.grisoft.com and download the newest version of AVG Free.

Was the game from limewire or torrents, or some other program like them. That is how you get infected, so I would suggest that once the infection is removed, that you buy your games from here on out.

First make sure to turn off system restore, so that the infection does not plant itself on a restore point so that it can return. After you do that, run a scan with your spyware protection first, if you don't have one go here and download spybot, it's free

Once the scan has finished, run a scan with your virus protecton. I would hope you would have that.

After the scan are complete, if the computer is clean of infection you may turn system restore back on. If the infection remains go here for more help
