I have improved my batting, says Amit Mishra - Cricket News Update
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s leg-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Mishra-c871 on Saturday said that he has been working hard on his batting over the last couple of years and this is the reason he batted responsibly during his side’s three-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla on Friday night.
Mishra, the 30-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 leg-spinner, who has played only one T20 International for his country so far, not only bowled well, but also did well with the bat, scoring an unbeaten beaten knock of 16 runs to lead the Sunrisers to victory, with just four balls to spare.
"I have been improving my batting for the last two years. I have been working very hard on my batting and it helped me here," the right-arm leggie told the media reporters after the three-wicket win.
Mishra, who was named the Man of the Match for his all-round efforts, conceded that the tourists had come under pressure after losing three wickets in last five overs. However, he said that he knew that his side could win if he stayed at the crease till the end.
"While chasing you need to keep yourself calm and cool. The pressure was there as wickets kept falling but I knew if I am there we will win," Mishra said at the post match presentation ceremony.
Mishra also mentioned that the Feroz Shah Kotla wicket was a slow one, however he reckoned it was not doing too much to trouble the batsmen. "The wicket was slow but it was good for batting."
Meanwhile, Delhi Daredevils’ left-arm spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahbaz-Nadeem-c89339 has admitted that losing four matches in a row was a cause of concern.
"We lost four games and it is a cause for concern. But T20 is a funny game, in three out of the four games, we fought hard and could easily have won them. We need to return to winning ways if we have to qualify for the knockout stage," said Nadeem, who picked up 4 wickets for 17 runs in his spell of four overs.
Delhi’s three-wicket defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 in a low scoring encounter was their fourth defeat in four games this season.
