  2. Insomnia, like other secondary sleep disorders, is most often a symptom that some other physical, emotional, behavioral or environmental problem is affecting sleep.  The cure for insomnia is finding out what the real issue is that is causing you not to sleep.  Following are suggestions that can help with insomnia.

    -  Try to go to sleep at the same time each night and get up at the       same time each morning. Do not take naps after 3 p.m.

    -  Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol late in the day or at night.

    -  Get regular exercise. Exercise during the day--make sure you exercise at least 5 to 6 hours before bedtime.

    -  Make sure you eat dinner at least 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.

    -  Keep your bedroom dark, quiet, and cool. If light is a problem, try a sleeping mask. If noise is a problem, try earplugs, a fan, or a "white noise" machine to cover up the sounds.

    -  Follow a routine to help relax and wind down before sleep, such as reading a book, listening to music, or taking a bath.

    -  If you can't fall asleep within 20 minutes or don't feel drowsy, get up and read or do something that is not too active until you feel sleepy. Then try going back to bed.

    -  If you lay awake worrying about things, try making a to-do list before you go to bed.

    -  Use your bed only for sleep and s*x.

See your doctor if you think that you have insomnia or another sleep problem. Your doctor will do a physical exam to rule out other medical problems that might cause insomnia. You may also need blood tests to check for thyroid problems or other conditions that can cause sleep problems.

  4. Well I've heard that counting backwards from 500 by 3's will get you asleep before you get to 200.....i just heard that yesterday...

    or

you need to do something to get your brain working a little first...like balancing your checkbook or something to get to sleep

  5. That happened to me too. I got over it by waking up early. If you wake up early you will be sleepy later and it helps a lot.If you can't do that watch a boring show and you will sleep really easily. Watch something lame.LOL.

Good luck and try it please!

    :]

  6. I felt the same way.

Please take this into consideration. It worked for me, although I am not you.

I had overwhelming anxiety. It turned out to be my use of Splenda. Yup Splenda. How could something that taste so good, be so bad?

I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. The package doesn't have to say Splenda to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might still be using it and don't even know it!

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia and more.

Go ahead, google: anxiety splenda or anxiety sucralose or insomnia splenda or insomnia sucralose

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air
